Practice activity 4.1 : Using the passive voice
One feature of formal writing is the use of the passive voice. Can you change these statements to the passive voice? Remember to keep the tense the same and to include the agent only where necessary.
TIP The passive is always formed using the structure: be + past participle. It is
only the verb to be that changes according to the tense. The past participle
never changes.
1. Students must take the test today.

2. Many people have written essays about the differences between formal and casual English.

3. At any given moment, millions of people all around the world are sending emails.
