When you do Task 2 of the IELTS writing exam, you will have to write an essay. The essay will have to be at least 250 words long, an d you will be given 40 minutes to write it.

You can't predict the exact topic you will be given, so you need to be prepared to give your opinion on any topic the examiners choose.You can increase your general knowledge by reading the newspaper or reading news websites such as abc.net.au/news or smh.com.au.

TIP The topics used in the writing are similar to those in the other sections, so by improving your general knowledge, you will be more prepared for all the parts of the exam.
