a. In the words on picture, notice that the target sound is quieter in the word back. Listen and repeat the words. |
b. Listen to the sentences. |
c. Sentence stress First try to guess some of the answers to these questions about the sentences: Are they all questions or statements? Does the intonation go up or down? Which sentences have an adjective + noun? Which is the most important word for the speaker's meaning? Then listen to the sentences again and bold the sentence stress. EXAMPLE It's a hairy coat. |
