With spring just around the corner, the Fields Community Center has just announced its first-ever environmental campaign, "Green Basics." Through a series of four lectures, one per week during April, the Center will help residents increase their environmental awareness. The talks will take place at the Fields Community Center at 7:30 p.m. All profits go toward improving the Community Center. Tickets can be purchased on the Center's website or at the event. This lecture is aimed at those who are new to recycling. Join Alex Duke to learn everything you need to know about what can and cannot be recycled, including storage tips and collection schedules.

Cleaning the Natural Way - Wednesday, April 9 (free admission)
Janice French, the Community Center's in-house expert, provides a hands-on workshop that teaches participants how to make cleaning products from natural ingredients found around your home. Come with an empty spray bottle.

Becoming Road-Savvy - Wednesday, April 16 (tickets: $7.00)
Frederick Ship's discussion will focus on how to maximize your car's fuel efficiency to save gas and reduce pollution.

The Mass Extinction - Wednesday, April 23 (tickets: $5.00)
Carmen Marshall explains why so many plants and animals are in danger of disappearing forever, and what we can do about it.
